counters are pretty much counting items which count the number of times ure webpage gets visited, i guess to use it would give you a strong indication how successful and popular your webpage would be. other types of web analysis tools are clicky, crazyegg where both help to analyze viewers criticism

an then movin onto rss is a web feed in which updated content such as news feeds can be easily updated.

well, gtg! will add more later! cya!

Add to Technorati Favorites

wikipedia calls technorati a "Internet search engine for searching blogs" however it also allows for you to manage blogs that u find are interesting. like for example you could favourite a many different blogs and the moment you log onto technorati itll be able to show u the updates made to those blogs an given in a short paragraph to show you what the blog has written. this makes it easier to siphon through to the more interesting aspects and to see if there is anything of interest. technorati manages the blogs keeping your favourites and also showing you what is popular at this time an moment. so pretty much technorati is a community based blog organiser similar to that of del.icio.us for webpages and flickr for photoes.

my technorati rank and technorati authority at the moment is kind of embarassing, its weak.

so at this moment my technorati rank is 3,366,655 which isnt too bad...

and my authority is 2.

technorati authority relies on how interesting your contents of your blog is an how many other blogs link to your blog. do you follow? so the more ppl that links or leads to your own blog the higher the authority you have!

technorati rank is about how far you are away from being the number one blog in the world! rank and authority are linked, the more authority the smaller the rank number you'll become.

well looking at the top 100 blogs, i think my favourite would be http://www.lifehacker.com.au/

which is all about gadgets and gizmos an keepin upto date an all that jazz. its really interesting in terms of all the things it teaches you. an instead of focusing on aesthetic appearance it instead focuses on the content providing a very intriguing and useful blog

well thats all folks!

ftp

ftp standing for file transfer protocol which is practically the most simple way and also the most secure way to transfer files over the internet.

the most positive aspect of ftp is that you use ftp everyday in terms of downloading anything off the net. such as music, videos, for online gaming. all of these use ftp. its ease of use allows for amateurs and proffessionals to use it and be able to create webpages.

however there are tons of negatives about ftp, ftp doesnt work too well if there are firewalls placed. thus if the firewalls are placed ports need to be forwarded and configurations need to be in order for the transfers to occur. the firewalls also make it hard to filter active mode ftp traffic on the client side, and is a high latency protocol because of the large number of commands needed to initiate a transfer. there is also no intergrity check so if the file is corrupted the client would not be able to know and often the passwords and file contents are sent in clear text which are then able to be intercepted by eavesdroppers.

some of these risks can be minamilised with third party external softwares, with use of third party software the intergrity of a file could be checked, ports that need forwarding will need to be manually forwarded but luckily there are many sites on the internet which help with port forwarding.

but all in all ftp is a useful way which the positives far outweigh the negatives in terms of the easy transfer of information from across the globe can be easily managed!
